So, I have been coping with money issues for a very long time. I am currently unemployed (I have not been able to find a job in the area I live in, and have
barriers to employment as well). I am 24 and a university student. I receive
disability assistance for severe anxiety/depression. Although I am grateful
for the fact that I receive any money at all, it seems to always run out before
the next payment. I do my best to budget it, but it never seems to last.
I currently live with my mother (due to my financial issues). However, I am
responsible for a large portion of items for the household. I am the only one
who really buys/goes grocery shopping, and that is where most of my money goes. So I can never really save any money or pay off student debt. I want
to try my best to budget it even better in the future, however, I am not
going to get any money for over a week. My mom does not have any money
right now. I asked her if she was going to borrow money or anything, and she said no (we usually help each other if one of us has money and the other one doesn't). So I ended up borrowing money from my sibling, but it was a small amount.
Anyways, at my university they have a program where you can have a grocery store coupon worth $50 in emergency situations. There is a maximum of 4 per student (I took three of them last year, which is embarrassing). So I guess if I wanted to I could ask for the last one, but I feel really ashamed doing that. I am just worried that the small amount of money I have is going to be gone before next week, so I considered that option to be safe. Do you think this is ok?
