People must always acknowledge that whatever uncomfortable topic is brought up can be dealt with in an impersonal, objective manner. They must not ever make a topic of discussion my personal problem.

If I bring up a topic, and my interlocutor suggests "you feel that way because you have an issue", then that would be unbearable, and there is no way out of that bind.
