In the UK its different and its different all through the UK I am guessing too...

I went on disability DLA (Disability Living Allowance) in 2011 after being sacked from my job on ill health grounds. It's due for renewal in 2017. You get 6 years then you are reviewed. I am also on ESA (Employment Support Allowance) which means I am in the Supported Group which means I DO NOT need to look for work as I am deemed "too ill" to work. However I am massively well now. It has took me 4 and a half years to get to that point.

We now have the PIP system coming in (Personal Independant Plan) which will replace the DLA (Disability Living Allowance). So far people who get DLA some have had to fight to keep their allowances :-( I am dreading next year as I can't afford to live off of fresh air. I have been applying for jobs even though I am not meant to but I want to work. I am prepared to do anything to work.

I was working for 10 years prior to becoming on benefits as they are known in the UK
Thanks for this!
