I get that when I got so sick and could not work I thought we would lose the house. What I did not know is that my work had std and ltd I really did not know much about it other then then took like $2 out of each paycheck. I did learn when I was pregnant that the std was for short term disability and with that and my sick time and vacation time carried me through my pregnancy and delivery and until the baby got out of the NICU.

Neither my boss nor I knew what LTD was we thought it had to do something like if you had to go into a nursing home. If I am found disabled my work has to make up the difference in my SSDI. No one in my department knew that.

My life changed in the matter if minutes with that first seizure. I did not have a choice. For a year I did chemo and that year I spent more time in the hospital then at home. I was sacred 2 kids one with special needs and I made more then my husband plus our insurance was through my work. So I get it. I was up nights and I cried for hours.

The warning signs were there and I did not listen. I worry about you Christina jan Kiya and everyone. You are all good people and I know there are people out there that are getting SSDI or SSI that could work. I fought filing for SSDI but if I had not filed for it my work would have on my behalf
