My worry is that she is assuming it's like the superficial cuts people like me do, and doesn't know you've required medical attention, you picking surgery staples etc.

It would be good if she was asking questions to assess severity and tissue damage, but maybe she plain doesn't know.

I'd suggest informing her, if you feel it's something you want to do.
