One of the healthiest mindsets a person can have is to be glad of an opportunity to make their life better, even when the opportunity falls short of fixing everything and offers no more than a partial solution. And one of the stupidest responses to get from your mate is a complaint that this opportunity isn't totally everything one might have wished for.

Here you are, seeing all that's good about this job offer and realizing that it can be a stepping stone to a better offer. Keep that mindset, and you are going to be okay in this world.

Do your best, and I would say the odds are that, when they have a fulltime position available (which is only a matter of time,) it will be offered to you. In any case, keep seeing that glass as half-full. Your husband is lucky to have you with your positive outlook.
