We used to get a lot of people and held a haunted house one year, that was fun.
Less and less kids each year.
At one point I would heavily decorate the front yard, kids really liked my cobweb tunnel lit by blacklights.
One little boy sticks to mind, he was afraid to ring the doorbell, you could hear him conversing with his dad who was on the sidewalk and was encouraging him from that distance. The boy finally rang it and I opened the door slowly, so as not to scare him (no decorations inside) I found he was about four-years-old.. I saw his tonsils first, followed by the earsplitting scream. His dad grinning. Then he realized I wasn't in costume and our inside home looked normal. Hehe He was so relieved and left chuckling.
These days nobody wants to walk up streets with hills.
Thanks for this!
