Well, that's the beauty of journaling. You capture the memories of the day, and can go back and read about them at a later date, at your choosing. Or, you can just write and burn what you've written if you feel that what you have written needs to be cleansed from yourself.
Maybe make a list of things you want to remember about each day, and stick it somewhere you'll be sure to see it daily to remind you. Then you can record them in your journal if you see fit to.
