When i feel nausea I go for the strongest peppermints I can find, and keep popping them so my sinuses are cool and I only taste peppermint. The aroma actually helps you breath easier, and that means a lot in itself. Peppermint also helps calm the digestive system.
I can relate to the panic while vomiting. Most of my panic attacks end up with me dry heaving, so nausea when not anxious causes panic because it feels the same I think.
