here in the USA the health system has changed. now all american's are required by law to have health insurance. after a person has health insurance the insurance company sends you a membership book that lists all the treatment providers covered by your health insurance plan.

some insurance companies are assigning the treatment providers to you based on which treatment providers have not reached their quota for number of patients.

other insurance companies let the patient choose their treatment providers from the membership book they got when they signed up for their insurance plan.

other insurance companies are having the past treatment providers send in a referral for who the patients new treatment provider is going to be.

if you dont already have insurance contact your social services agency. they will be able to help you apply for the state insurance plan,

if you do not have insurance you either pay out of your pocket or sign up for your state insurance plan or choose an insurance company. many people now are using the healthcare.gov website to go shopping for health insurance, they open the website only once or twice a year. it will soon be opening again heres the link https://www.healthcare.gov/

since you already have a treatment provider (at least Im assuming you do because some of your posts talk about your therapy and getting diagnosed and such things that go on in therapy ) my suggestion is ask your therapist or psychiatrist that is treating you already if they can help you get insurance and a new treatment provider set up. it will help with the the application process and so on if you have someone to help you do it.
