Thanks so much everyone for your replies!! I decided not to file a claim. Interesting thing is that the guys were finishing up my floor on the day after they dropped the piece to my entertainment unit. They noticed the trim piece that was supposed to go around my fireplace was a different color than the rest of the wood floor. It was lighter and redder in color. The man working on it stopped and said, "that does not look right. We have to change that." he called their store and had someone drive out to our house special with a new piece of trim that matched the floor and installed it. he wanted to make sure it looked good. Personally, I think he appreciated that I did not call the store and complain about them dropping the piece from my entertainment unit. Because I was fair with them, they were fair and worked extra hard for me. Because he could have just slapped the trim piece he had with him on there and called it a day. And guilloche......we LOVE the floors. It was 4 days of being inconvenienced and having loud saws going all the time, but it was worth it. They just moved the furniture around as they went from room to room. Glad we did it......and also glad it's over. HA!
