Also, if you haven't solved your depression through therapy or a changed pattern of life events, you may feel depressed again when the drug is gone. So beware of that and be prepared that you may have more work ahead of you to deal with depression. This may feel like a withdrawal symptom, but it's not, just a return to how things are for you right now. Sometimes we have to taper our meds or stop them to take a peek into ourselves to see if we are truly still depressed or not. Tapering is more effective as our biochemical regulatory mechanisms have a chance to adjust instead of swinging too far in one direction once the meds are withdrawn.
