Sadly ya many places have went to this 10 year experience thing to see how dedicated you are to a job. Some use it to weed out those who are job jumpers thinking that if you have had many jobs in 10 years you won't be a good employee without actually looking into why a person has this. I'm sorry you are having a hard time finding a place that doesn't do this.
