Hey therealme,
I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea yesterday. My doc showed me the sleep study results that I stop breathing 98.6 times per hour. It was kind of frightening to hear the news, but at the same time, I sleep terribly. I wake up at least five times per night, and my husband told me yesterday he's worried, because he sees me stop breathing and doesn't know what to do. Soooo, now I'm scheduled for surgery to fix my deviated septum in three weeks. After that heals, I'm supposed to use the CPAP machine. I reeeeeally hope it works! Hearing that you get some relief from snoring and gasping for breath makes me feel a lot more hopeful. I'm hoping this gives me more energy during the day, because as it stands now, I'm perpetually exhausted, and I doubt it's because of my low dose meds. If you have any other feedback, suggestions, info about your sleep apnea, or even stories, just drop me a line. I'm really nervous about this new medical problem. My oxygen is at about 80% every night, and I'm hoping everything works out in the end, but it's great to have support. I hope you are breathing better!!
