As usual I have a different and perhaps disappointing position on this...

Be careful, protect yourself.

Keep in mind that people will naturally appear to have more together and be positive online. I believe it is instinctual to exaggerate our good points and not being so quick to point out the negative regarding our online personalities.

Realize too there are a lot of predators out there. When you do begin to communicate, I actually recommend you google some of the sentences he writes. A great number of predators use a script.

I have a very good example. My BF's sister was gutted $40,000+ dollars. This would have continured had her bank not closed her account and had she not faced prosecution for funding terrorism. Yes, I know this is extreme. I just point this out to warn you.

On the otherhand there are some wonderful people out there. But, if there is the slightest gut instinct or question or hesitance in your mind then listen to your intuition.
