not sure we ever quite got over that.. 4 years later and we're kinda angry at the world for not ending

I never took all that stuff seriously. maybe its because I look at all the hype world going to end reports differently then most.
I look at my family and friends and children and pets and everything I do enjoy. then I think do I want, I mean seriously deep in my heart, want these people to be gone. Do I really Really wish those I loved to die in the most horrific ways that would result in the world ending slowly or fast. the answer is no, I want my children to grow up into adults with lives of their own. I want my dogs and cats to continue to enjoy running, playing, and everything else they do. I want my best friend to continue being able to knit and crochet for the homeless. I want to continue to row by canoe around all the great lakes here in NY. I want to be able to take my children to disney world...
my point is yes I have my depressive lets let the world end moments but deep down I know I dont want it to happen. dying is a final non answer to problems.
then I got to thinking back then what if the world had ended in such a way as to cause pain, starvation, droughts, before it actually fizzled out. (there is documentation that planets do not always go out with a big bang) more times then not it can take many years for planets to become supernova's or dark cold, no sun reaching through the ozone or worse the heat waves and disasters from depleted ozone. do I really really deep down want everyone and everything that I do love on this planet to go through that kind of slow death? no
another thing I thought about back this is what would the world be like without places like psych central. if the world begins to end whats most likely the first thing to go...electricity, cell reception, tv reception, the internet.... try going for days to weeks with out even booting up a computer, turning on a cell phone or watching my favorite tv shows.
then i got to thinking about how we already have the technology to see other planets, space travel, seismic activity and so much more. so it really isnt going to be a big bang the world be gone like predicted in all these hyped up articles. the world will know in plenty of time maybe even years ahead of time if an asteroid is headed our way to do something about it, the world is going to know way ahead of time maybe even years ahead of time if earths core is heating up and going supernova. theres even people keeping an eye on and studying our sun so earth people are going to know years ahead of time if the sun decides to give its final heat wave and fizzle out.
my point logically there is so much more that can now be done then back in the times that these predictions were done by who ever. so I dont bother buying into all the "world is going to end " hype.
besides... if and and those I know truly want to die, we dont need the world to end in order to do that.
just my views.
