Apply. Definitely. Even if you get it, and decide you don't want it, you can always turn it down. Also look at it as fact-finding to learn more about that company and the position. Also, maybe the job will be less stressful...wouldn't that be good?
I think there is absolutely no harm in applying. And, if you don't apply, you'll never know if there is an opportunity for something different.
