I met my husband on an online dating site 14 years ago. I was very honest in my profile and so was my husband. I was a heavy drinker at the time and perhaps it was stupid but I put it right in my profile. I wanted to be honest and didn't want to date someone who supported prohibition or something. My husband gave me the tingles, fuzzies and butterflies from the first message. He was different than who I typically chose to go out with and that was the best part about it. He's wonderful. So my advise is to use common sense like the others mentioned. Be careful (this goes for online and in person....I was abused badly by someone I met through traditional in person meetings). You never know till you try. I hope you meet someone wonderful.
