I do not know much about this, but I do know that people who are bipolar are advised not to use this, can trigger manic episodes.
Frankly, I do not think much of many of the herbals health stores are robbing consumers of their money, I once was a health food store junky, wasted loads of money on all the "cure alls" they advertise. I do use some of health food store supplements, and do not discourage the use of supplements, but it is always wise to check with a medical professional first.
I think the best thing a person can do is ask a professional about the validity of a product, cause many of the "health products" shops employ many people that lack the knowledge of supplements and just repeat what their supervisor's drum in their heads, just to make a sale.
Flipside, there are good health stores, their are knowledgable employees, just be cautious of those that frown at traditional medicine, I know a man that had high blood pressure, his wife worked for a health food store chain, and told him to take garlic pills, well, this man obviously needed "real" medication, he had a mini stroke and then required a quadruple by pass.
Like I tell everyone, read up, ask your docs, and even a pharmacist about any prescription meds., supplements, or OTC drugs, before taking anything that is new to you.
I wish y'all lots of luck and good health
