The issue isn't the tattoos, it's a symptom of a bigger issue. Hell - she could go out and buy a Mustang without consulting you using all of your savings, and the issue still wouldn't be the Mustang, but the fact that she's doing things without discussing them with you.

And you need to make sure that the point is not about getting your approval at all. She's a grown woman, and doesn't need it. It's more about the communication that's gone awry.
