I take Abiify in large part because its relatively non-sedating, as (full dose) tranquilizers go. I remember having horrible nightmares on seroquel and waking up with sore muscles. I also remember having akathisia through a zyprexa fog. not fun.

some people can reduce doses of some medicines once they get stable. Other times, the prescriber keeps people on the same meds, same doses, indefinitely.

Maybe you could consider a dosage reduction once you've been stable for a while? Sorry you're having these problems.
