I went to one years ago and didn't enjoy it at all. It was the only one I have ever attended. I didn't get much out of it.
The day hospital was for adolescents. The program operated after school from 4:30 to 8 pm. I stopped going after a few months, because my experience wasn't pleasant. The place didn't promote recovery. Staff were more interested in power and control than in helping us. It also felt like I was in a prison, since it was a part of the inpatient unit.
We would cook meals, talk, do crafts, and go for walks. The group was very small which was the only thing I liked about it.
