I honestly couldn't tell you. I was put on propranlol for my chronic pain, at one point. It interfered a lot with my other medications and caused my blood pressure to be so low I was taken to the ER. I'm not saying this will happen to you, but that decision your doctor made sounds pretty reckless. I'd get a second opinion before you go about taking that medication.
