Hi Tina,
I will certainly try what you suggested. I'm an "older" student and feel a little uncomfortable. But what you say makes sense.
I probably will be going by on office hours to get some extra help and maybe make a connection with the prof, letting him or her know that I'm serious about what I'm doing and like you said get to know them more personally.
I'm kinda excited about my prob & stats class but mostly scared half silly.
