With lupus a lot of times you don't look sick so if you don't look sick then you are not sick. I slowly started going down hill. Started with a cane then a crutch and a walker massive headaches rashes on my face but since I pushed myself people thought it can't be that bad. Many nights I came home and went right to bed.

I also think that a lot of people don't want to work so they try and get SSDI or SSI. On my lupus forum I can't tell you how many people come on there and say I was just dx with lupus I am going to sign up for SSDI. What why ? You can still work with lupus a lot of people do. You work has long as you can. Just because you get a dx doesn't mean you file ASAP. Does that make sense ?
