Hi Sarah.
Depressive symptoms and the inability to feel pleasure or gain traction in your life could be the result of many things.
It is good that you have the support from your therapist, however...measuring hormone levels & checking underlying symptoms may reveal something that could be fixed with the right medications. Deficiencies can manifest in debilitating symptoms and cause us great anguish. Often doctors opt to follow the path of least resistance by prescribing anti depressant medication as a 'fix all'. I suggest that you speak to a medical Doctor and ask to have some blood/urine work done...just to rule possible depletions/deficiencies out.
Of course events in our lives can cause depressive symptoms aswell..but to work toward improving our quality of life it's important to cover all bases first.
Be kind to yourself Sarah
