Not shrink, but looks as if they are getting farther away, as if I am floating backwards yet I am not moving. This also happens while watching TV, all of the sudden the TV seems to be getting farther away from me. It's very odd and I have no idea what is causing it.

Depersonalization. 'Lilliputian hallucinations' is the name for when objects are getting smaller (named after the little people in Gulliver's Travels).

And they aren't 'floaters' (the little bits of dust in your eyes)? Are they hallucinations that are distortions of floaters or something quite different?

It would be worth getting checked out to make sure you are neurologically okay (don't mean to scare you but brain tumours etc). Otherwise... Could be psychotic kinds of hallucinations, yeah.

If they aren't too disturbing then it isn't really a problem... But it would be worth ruling out a neurological problem.
