Welcome to this corner! I was diagnosed with ADD as an adult at age 23. After I got the diagnosis I realized all the symptoms were there but aparently no one noticed.

In high school, I was always on the honor roll with good grades so this may have been why no one noticed. However, when I think back to high school and even before I recall comments on report cards such as 'doesn't pay attention' or 'fails to respect authority.'

In college it was sort of the opposite. My grades suffered big time, and I barely graduated. I did better in smaller classes rather than big lectures. And online classes were perfect for me because I could run more at my own pace.

Now I take Adderall XR every morning. One thing I have noticed since I began the med is I have fewer close calls when I am behind the wheel. I used to have moments where I would zone out and then end up stomping on the brake because I suddenly saw brake lights in front of me.

I wish you all the best with this, and hopefully you doctor makes the right call.
