Roy:
Oh no! I fear I've offended you. I, in no way, meant to imply that the use of recreational drugs could've caused the psychosis. While I do believe they don't help the situation (my mother is an addict who is DID and suffers from psychosis). I am so sorry if you thought that's what I meant.
Have you had scans done of your brain to make sure there are no tumors, etc. present. Sometimes that can cause vision problems. What I meant by mentioning the hallucinations is because having several family members and myself, at some points, suffering from psychosis, I know a bit about it and if the Risperadol helped that, then it is psychotic related....I hope that is not confusing. The general guidelines for diagnosis of psychosis are two things: hallucinations and/or delusions. So at some point, one or the other has come into play.
Perhaps trying the anxiety meds would help you, even if it's just to ease you until they can figure out exactly what's causing it. I know a student here that is good at depersonalization/dissociative disorders and I will have her take a look see.
I really wish you luck and hope that you find a solution soon.
I know it must be miserable!
Take Care,
Kimberly.
