Hello NotDeadYet: Well, the mainstream answer to this is probably... therapy. These are some of the sorts of issues people deal with in therapy.

My personal perspective is that one does not "overcome" these sorts of concerns.

The way to handle them is to learn to accept them... with compassion. As the 11th century Tibetan Buddhist Machig Labdron said: "In other traditions demons are expelled externally. But in my tradition demons are accepted with compassion."

There is a Buddhist practice called "compassionate abiding" that I employ. Here is a link to a nice description of the practice. May it be of benefit...
