I'm 28. Not too old I guess. But my memory's been shaky. Compared to some people I know, my memory's probably alright, but I used to have a really good memory. Now I have trouble recalling things with quite the same clarity or quickness.

Admittedly I have a jumble of thoughts --lines of thought that are being tugged every which way. My thoughts are like a soup now. And I'm sure fixating on depressive matters relentlessly is not helping. While I'm sure depression and anxiety are the main culprits here, I'm trying to get to the bottom of those. But let's assume this is some cognitive problem for the time being not entirely linked to my depression or anxiety.

I'll even sometimes now forget what I was trying to focus on in the middle of that thought. Oddly, I still have good memory in other regards, and still have some sporadic bursts of good recall. I'd always prided myself on my exceptional memory, but now I'm definitely suffering. I'm hesitant to say I even have a compromised memory, because I'm told one can reinforce the belief if they assert it like that. Perhaps it's not that simple, but I suppose I am superstitious in that respect.

Who can I talk to about this? How do I improve my phrase recall...or just my ability to recall details? Who can I talk to? I'd like to speak to someone well-versed in the subject. I'd ask on Quora, but I can't elaborate on my questions: explain the nuances, the details in the way that I can on here. There's a bounty of information on memory out there on the internet, but I sense that much of this information is a scam or not effective. Surely there's something truly effective out there. Hopefully it's not a technique or trick that's hellishly incremental either, but...maybe so.

I know age may limit our memory as being as good as it once was, but this is more in the bothersome category. I feel strongly that my memory could be better.
