I'm watching the video now and finding it really fascinating, but I'm naturally a very skeptical person, so I dunno what I think about its legitimacy. Still, I find it interesting. I think perhaps your friend has just found his or her own purpose and changed a bit as a result; that's fine. It may just be a phase.

I don't see it as brainwashing, personally. It would be nice if it had more facts and less fancy music, funky camera angles, and typical deep-voiced guy acting all mysterious, though. Hah. To each their own comes to mind, however.
