I began living on my own for the first time in my life, about 2 years ago. I was so terribly lonely, I pretended I had a room-mate. I would just tell myself that my room-mate was out, and would return later. After awhile, I because used to living alone (and with my cats). I actually like it just fine, and I no longer need the room-mate.
