I guess my only hesitation would be that he is not charging for the sessions. I think that can cause confusion and anxiety for the client. If you're not paying, then does it mean the T is not providing professional services? Does it mean he is being more of a friend? Things can get confusing when there is no fee for service.
The positive is that you have your old T available to you for support when your trauma therapist is away.
