Some people have the experience, particularly in childhood, that "letting it all out" only got you in more trouble. It is hard to feel that that experience will not happen again, even though you are no longer a child. And sometimes in adulthood letting it all out
will get you in trouble.
I don't see a perfect solution. Depends on how much uncertainty you can tolerate. Psych Central is better than many places to express these ideas, but it is not perfect either.
