I understand what you're saying. There ARE people that live life as simply as possible. However, it's human nature to want to advance, to want more, to want better, to want bigger, to explore and to learn new things. All this takes work. To have come up with the idea of money is to simplify the work. The Barter System would only work in a very simple society.
They call this "Progress." Being human, sometimes we err in our quest for progress, but it can't and won't be stopped. Only some will slow their hurried pace to know who they are and understand themselves. Sometimes, it comes too late in life, when we've grown old and useless and we have the time to sit and contemplate life.
