Actually, the surgery may have occurred at 6 or 8 months. I have that written down somewhere. [The smell of the ether made me sick to death when I was about 5 or 6 years old, waiting with my parents for relatives at a Chinese restaurant; the air freshener in there was a dead ringer.]
