It depends on the individual doctor's compassion regarding SH, I feel.

A doctor has seen mine because I had to unbutton a tight work shirt to reveal my shoulder and upper arm (too tight to roll up) and he asked "why do you have so many marks?" I simply said "You don't want to know" and he dropped it.

Hopefully he empathises with MH issues?
