Anxiety likes to do this thing with everyone it can get a proper grip on: Convincing said person that it has all control and it calls the shots. It likes to force you into believing that the world is the most terrifying place your imagination can congure up.
Anxiety is a primitive response that's never left our brain. It allows us to responds to threats in whatever manner will keep you alive. We don't need it the same as we used to. While it's still an asset during times of imminent danger, it has no place otherwise. Research what anxiety does to us physically while in puts us in "Fight or Flight" mode, and what it causes us to create mentally when it isn't put into action.
Anxiety doesn't control you. It's like a puppy who needs some re-training. You have to re-train it and you'll figure that out in your own way. Some people benefit from anti-anxiety medication. It's worth looking into if that's the route you wish to take. Good luck.
