Who knows how he's really feeling deep down. All you can do it your part. Sounds like you're not letting him go without doing your best to give him peace of mind. At the same time, you're making sure that your conscience is clear. You can only do so much.

When you meditate, make sure to search your heart and mind so that you aren't repressing feelings. They'll affect you seriously when your dad passes.
