The total score is pretty meaningless by itself, as pointed out in the FAQ. I personally think that they should get rid of it as it causes distress and confusion and there is no wisdom or insight to be had from it.

To quote Hannibal Lector: "You think you can dissect me with this blunt little tool?" The are only 100 questions and some of them have answers that could mean multiple things. You could be on the edge of sanity and still score relatively low if you have a lot of categories at 0.

Like you, I have no relationship, drug, gambling and other issues, so my total score will never get high enough to properly capture my suckage. I think you have more 0's than I do which takes the total score down.

I am skeptical that some of the categories have meaning. I haven't dated since 2002 and have no friends so I score a 0 in relationships. I could have lots of friends and be dating and score a 0. So, what does it really mean?

It is not totally worthless though, I use it as a tracker. It is the same questions and scoring so answering honestly can show ups and downs over time. When I am better it is 105ish and when I am doing poorly it is around 140. Honestly, for me, the difference between 105 and 140 is not that large, but is noticeable. I sometimes have a difficult time self-assessing and I find it useful to verify what I think is going on. I think I have taken it enough over a long enough time to use as a baseline. I will know that something really good or really horrible is going on if it ever goes outside that range.

Like the Sanity Score, I don't know if this post is helpful but that is my 2 cents.
