It's been an up and down week for my friend and Ciara. Me too since I love them both. She went to the vet's Tuesday and they were able to draw blood which showed she was anemic and had a slight infection. She also gained a couple of ounces. That might not sound like much, but her weight was down under 8 pounds. A few ounces was a lot.

Back to the vet's office Thursday because she was not doing well. Vet wanted chest and abdominal x-rays which meant another trip on Friday. Chest x-ray showed lung in her chest cavity. They drained 50ccs of fluid from one side and 24 ccs from the other side! They still don't know what's causing all this. The vet said the fluid could be from FIP (a deadly disease in cats) or a plural infusion. She said some times get infusions and they never know why.

Before they did the tap to drain the fluid the vet asked my friend if she wanted them to resuscitate if Ciara crashed. My friend told them "no" because she can't afford it. When she texted me to let me know what was going on I texted back to tell her to tell them to resuscitate, if need be, and I would pay for it.

Talked to my friend last night. She's worn out from the stress of worrying about Ciara. I think we can all relate to that. Ciara came home ate, drank a touch and found a box in the kitchen to nap in. She's been hiding in the bathroom the last week. This all sounds good to me.

The vet sent some of the fluid from her chest off to be tested. We are waiting on the results.

Please keep both of them in your thoughts. It will devastate my friend if something happens to Ciara.
