TRIGGERING - possible paedophile - please do not read if triggered by this.

We received a written note from my son's school today. On Monday, a stranger in a blue vehicle (we have the registration number), lured a Grade 3 learner to his vehicle. Very fortunately, nothing happened as the child's mother arrived just in time to fetch her.

The Child Protection Unit is busy investigating the matter and an arrest is expected soon. The teachers have spoken with the children regarding their safety, as have we. (My child is so 'stranger-phobic', I can't imagine him being lured). The school principle said that he cannot give out more information at the police's request as it could hamper their investigation.

I am so shocked! My son waits in a park opposite the school for his ride home! I have now asked him to wait behind the school gates.

I really feel for the mother of the Grade 3 child.
