Christmas used to be such a time of excitement for my family and I. I've been very sick the past several years ....to sick to shop, to think up an adequate present....to bake cookies and sing carols. I go through the motions for my kids and it all ends up working out but it's stressful. We used to not struggle with money and shopping was so fun and exciting and I would come up with very personal gift ideas I felt excited about giving and so much excitement waiting for them to unwrap and see their surprise. I want it all back. This year some stuff is going on for my son so my heart is really not in it but I'm determined to make the day special for my youngest son, parents, husband and grandparents. We used to unwrap one present on Christmas Eve which was a nice new cozy pair of Jammie's for everyone to wear to bed and going to bed on Christmas Eve was so exciting....and waking up my kids and us all sitting in front of the tree in our cozy Jammie's and opening gifts with the smell of fresh brewed coffee and Christmas carols was so peaceful and such a blessing. Now my favorite part of Christmas is when it's all over and that makes me sad.
