I seem to have responded quite well to risperidone. I was originally on 3mg, but have lowered it to 1mg. I was put on it because of paranoia and a bipolar diagnosis, but the bipolar diagnosis turned out not to be.
I might either stay at 1mg or possibly lower it to .5, and if i dont respond to .5 well ill go back up to 1.
I have not had an outburst since being on it, which is nearly two years, and it really seams to keep my emotions in check, and wipes away paranoia.
As far as side effects sedation is it, which is why i take it at bedtime.
The prolactin elevation is only a problem at high doses, and all other side effects are either rare or very rare, or are dose dependent.
