I did a two week in patient stay when I was in my twenties. It was scary going into the ward and hearing the door lock behind me. After the first day it wasn't so bad. Group and individual therapy sessions, evaluations, meds, vitals checks, and three meals a day. After we had been there a few days we got to go outside for recreation too.

The staff and my fellow patients were for the most part ok. We had some laughs, some tears.

I have not needed to go back, yet. But, I always consider the option open if things get tough. It was certainly easier to start medication inpatient.

Glad you found us here at PC, and welcome.
Thanks for this!
