Home for meet the parents, etc could be a little intimidating for a second date, but it does take sex off the table. So it's a toss up.

If your parents can be trusted to behave themselves and not pounce on him it could be a good alternative to crowded New Years resturants and bars. I would love a date that included a home cooked meal.

This is something where I would ask him his thoughts on what he would like for a second date. Offer him a couple of possibilities, let him know that you think spending New Year's Eve with him would be fun.
