Thanks for this subject, InnerZone. I do that with a lot of things -- my keys; my wallet; my bus pass; my medic alert tag. These things all have laniers, if that's the word, so they are attached to my backpack, or to me. I keep my cell phone in a case on my belt. I also always put the plastic laundry card in the same place when I do laundry -- it often has more than $30 stored in it.

Most of my bills are automatic payments, too. I'm doing a lot of things "right," but too many things have "no place" to go/put.
