A month later I was the same but had actually had a few really bad days, one where I cut up my arm with a razor, so he started me on .5mg haldol in addition to my other prescriptions

Has Haldol helped anyone? I am very paranoid so I hope it will help with that. I took the first dose last night and feel quite dizzy and nauseated today. It feels like everything is spinning.

I'm sorry to tell you this, Crazygirl, but when I was first diagnosed as schizoaffective, Haldol was the first drug the psychiatrist tried out. I was on it for months, with the voices raging and the delusions rip-roaring in my head and the paranoia freaking me out 24/7. It didn't do a thing. No effect whatsoever, and the psychiatrist eventually moved me onto Abilify, which helped a lot. They start people off with Haldol because it has very few side effects and helps a lot of people. So take my case with a grain of salt; you might find it helps you a great deal. It can't hurt to try it out!
