We have good health insurance and all of our "kids" have stayed on our policy until they turned 26. If your parents have good insurance, I would say to save your money and stay on their plan. One thing to consider is that your parents may have access to information about which doctor you see. With my insurance, you can tell that the bill was submitted by my GP, my T, or my pdoc. So if you don't want your parents to possibly have access to that information, it would be better to go on your own.
